Sapitwa Peak Smoked Black Tea

Regular price $11.97
/

This is a lovely smoked black tea that will blow you away but still sweet as a prune and feels like you have a bourbon praline melting in our mouth. This is a clear favorite. An extraordinary hand-rolled black tea, smoked in the Thyolo Mountains of Malawi, over guava leaf. Lightly smoked - pure black tea

It's unique to this innovative tea-garden making use of the rich biodiversity of the lush African Estate. Sweet and aromatic, it has softer, less resinous notes than a Chinese pine smoked Lapsang Souchong. A cup with tints of light amber which is almost too pretty to drink and long beautiful twists.

Perfect Brewing Instructions: Use 3/4g of tea per  8oz of water. For the optimum infusion use 194/203°F water. Infuse for 2 - 3 minutes, tasting regularly. Best enjoyed without milk.

InfusionsYou can infuse this tea at least twice. With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavor are revealed.

BLACK TEA

Black tea is healthy since it has lower amounts of caffeine which helps to promote blood flow in the brain without over stimulating the heart. The powerful tea's phytochemicals aid in strong bones and connective tissue. Its polyphenols prevents tooth decay and helps in checking bacteria that causes bad breath.

Black Tea is known to banish fatigue, stimulate mental powers, and raise energy levels. It has been shown to reduce stress hormone levels and acts as a nerve sedative, frequently relieving headaches. Black tea contains a number of vitamins considered essential for maintaining health, including Carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, has antioxidant and protective properties, Vitamin B1 and Panothenic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6.

Black Tea also contains antioxidants which may help to protect your body from the ravages of aging and environmental effects. Because they are allowed to ferment completely before drying, most black teas are especially rich in those polyphenols which have been shown to be effective against dementia in aging as well as AIDS related dementia. These compounds penetrate the blood brain barrier and have also been found to reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Black tea is known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can be topically applied to cuts, bruises and burns, and is famous for its sunburn relief and has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease.
