Refreshing, delightful, light body similar to green tea, without the vegetal/grassy taste. Purely Just Purple tea leave is rich in anthocyanins (a flavonoid), the beneficial compounds found in blueberries, eggplant, purple grapes and other blue, purple or dark red foods.

The plant (leaves) itself has a red-purple color instead of green and the brewed tea comes out with a slightly purple hue. Purple leaf tea has a similar flavor profile to oolong, and is lighter than black tea. Purple Tea is low in caffeine, containing less caffeine than green tea but slightly more caffeine than most white teas. Purple tea is extremely high in antioxidants, containing almost twice as many antioxidants per cup as other types of tea.

You will be amazed at the giant tea leaves steeping deliciousness in your cup. Once unfurled, you can see the actual leaf that the farmer carefully hand-plucked from their Nandi Hills Tea Garden in Kenya.

Ingredients: Kenya purple full leaf

Perfect Brewing Instructions: One teaspoon (approx. 3g) for 8oz of water. Steep at 175oF for 3 minutes (adjust based on your taste preference). Just turn your kettle off before boiling if you don't have a temperature controlled kettle.

Infusions: You can infuse this tea at least twice.  With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavor are revealed.

Facts: Plain tea is minimally processed and provides roughly 2 calories per cup (240ml/8oz), which makes it nearly calorie-free.

Iced Tea: Follow the instructions for brewing regular hot tea and double the amount of tea. When the tea has brewed the suggested amount of time, remove the leaves or teabags and pour tea directly into a container filled with ice. Add more ice to adjust based on your taste preference.

Sweeten to taste with your sweetner of choice and enjoy.

Caffeine: Contains slight caffeine

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with steak. It also goes with chocolate, as well as being great to drink throughout the day on its own.

I enjoy this tea very much and highly recommend it!

Absolutley phenomenal tea, similar to a green tea with the complexity and no grassy taste. Pairs amazingly with orange peel and a touch of lemon juice.

Also, it has a smooth, slightly sweet taste reminiscent of a rich Darjeeling. Because of its caffeine content, I’ll brew a strong mug in the morning, then continue to add hot water throughout the day to the original brew enjoying the tea even with its diminished strength and caffeine. Yes, it’s that delicious!
