Most loved and one of Africa’s finest teas. A perfect breakfast tea, strong and rounded, ideal for lovers of Assam and Ceylon Black Teas.

This organic loose leaf black tea from Rwanda is a special delight and one of the best quality tea out of Africa. It is a clear favorite of our CommuniTea. Rich, malty, smooth and with a good balance of flavors this organic black tea is good straight up. A splash of milk won't hurt either.

A super bright golden colored liquor with a distinctive, high quality flavor. This is a truly unique tea with a slight savory note, medium body and smooth hint of honey.

A beautiful estate of bright green, rolling hills, just beside a very well known lake in Africa, Lake Kivu. You have to try it.

Rukeri Estate being Rwanda's largest tea estate is located in the northern part of the country in the Kirihara & Cyohoha valley areas. Here it has a natural tropical highland climate where the tea plants are grown at an altitude of 1700m-2000m. Processed at the Sorwathe tea factory which happens to be Rwanda's first private factory, where the leaves are rolled in traditional rollers using select and seasoned timber tables and battens.
SORWATHE has won many awards for its high quality teas, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility. Most Rwanda teas are grown on small farms that have united into a co-op which is why we partner.

"This is the best not-from-Assam assamica you’ll ever have." James A

"This is one of the loveliest tasting teas. As a matter of fact in my humble opinion it is one of the best" Aaron V

Enjoy tea from Rwanda, Land of a Thousand Hills.

Facts: Plain tea is minimally processed and provides roughly 2 calories per cup (240ml/8oz), which makes it nearly calorie-free.

Sweeten to taste with your sweetner of choice and enjoy.

Plant-Based Sachet Material: We will never put plastic in your tea. Our filter material for pyramid sachet tea bags are made using a certified non–GMO sugarcane-based material called NeoSoilon® and do not contain any petroleum-based plastics and are ultrasonically sealed. BLACK TEA

Black tea is healthy since it has lower amounts of caffeine which helps to promote blood flow in the brain without over stimulating the heart. The powerful tea's phytochemicals aid in strong bones and connective tissue. Its polyphenols prevents tooth decay and helps in checking bacteria that causes bad breath.

Black Tea is known to banish fatigue, stimulate mental powers, and raise energy levels. It has been shown to reduce stress hormone levels and acts as a nerve sedative, frequently relieving headaches. Black tea contains a number of vitamins considered essential for maintaining health, including Carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, has antioxidant and protective properties, Vitamin B1 and Panothenic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6.

Black Tea also contains antioxidants which may help to protect your body from the ravages of aging and environmental effects. Because they are allowed to ferment completely before drying, most black teas are especially rich in those polyphenols which have been shown to be effective against dementia in aging as well as AIDS related dementia. These compounds penetrate the blood brain barrier and have also been found to reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Black tea is known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can be topically applied to cuts, bruises and burns, and is famous for its sunburn relief and has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease.
